Gary “Skip” Stern joined CanAm Enterprises in January 2018 after a 35-year career in the global finance group at Sidley Austin LLP. Skip has worked extensively on financing transactions under the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, including on more than 28 deals, mostly on behalf of CanAm. These transactions have utilized a variety of structures and have involved projects in a wide range of industries such as media and entertainment, hotel, office, residential and retail building construction, manufacturing, healthcare, education sectors, transportation, shipping and tourism.

Skip has been recognized as Chicago “Lawyer of the Year” in Banking and Finance Law in the 2015 edition of The Best Lawyers in America and as a “Best Lawyer” in Securitization and Structured Finance Law (2006–2017). Skip has also been recognized by Chambers USA 2013–2017 in Capital Markets: Securitization, in Legal 500 US 2013–2017 in Finance: Structured Finance and in IFLR1000 as a “Leading Lawyer” in Structured Finance and Securitization in the United States.
