CanAm Leader to Share Market Insights as Expert Panel Weighs Investor Impact of EB-5 Program Reforms

New York, NY – CanAm Enterprises (CanAm), one of the leading full-service financial firms sponsoring EB-5 immigration-linked investment funds, is pleased to announce that Peter Calabrese, CEO of CanAm Investor Services, is among the industry experts who will offer their informed insights at a national conference early next month to help stakeholders process and adapt to the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 (RIA).  Enacted in March of this year, the RIA re-authorized the Regional Center Program, which is utilized by approximately 90 percent of investors who seek U.S. visas through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. The RIA is the focus of an all-day conference in Miami on November 9, “RIA: EB-5 Industry Experts Help You Prepare for New Changes,” and Mr. Calabrese will be a key contributor in a panel discussion on raising EB-5 capital in today’s economy.

The discussion is part of the conference sponsored by JTC Americas and Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP to help provide all EB-5 industry stakeholders with strategies that ensure compliance with the new RIA rules and landscape of the regenerated EB-5 market.

Scheduled for 11:00 am to 11:50 am, Mr. Calabrese’s panel discussion will cover raising capital for projects inside and outside of the Targeted Employment Areas (TEAs) of EB-5: How, when, where, attracting investors, and the capital stack.

“This all-day conference promises to offer a detailed analysis of the complex topics of vital importance to everyone with a stake in the new EB-5 program, and I am delighted to be a part of it,” Calabrese said. “The RIA reforms will have a significant impact on the types of EB-5 projects CanAm promotes and how they’re funded, so I look forward to sharing the insights from our perspective,” said Calabrese, who prior to joining CanAm, worked for 15 years in institutional sales and trading, with a focus on equity derivatives and volatility products.

Mr. Calabrese is part of a CanAm Enterprises leadership team that has financed more than 60 projects and raised over $3 billion of EB-5 capital. To date, more than $2.15 billion of EB-5 capital from more than 4,300 investor-families has been repaid by CanAm sponsored Regional Center Partnerships.

CanAm Enterprises is also leading a webinar discussion on the key changes for the EB-5 program ushered in by the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022.  A panel of industry experts will provide their key insights into the changes on November 3.  More information and registration on the webinar, “The Renewed EB-5 Program from Every Angle,”  can be found here.
